easier updating

We have completed the project placing an "UPDATE" button on each profile. Now when you look at your profile, you have a button available to immediately take you to the update page. This should make life a little easier. PS: Talked with Deb Ludington yesterday, she says to say hi to everybody.

passings

It is with sadness this week that I posted the death notices for Fred Dow
and Don Phillipe. As I reflected upon that process, it made me very much
aware of how all of us made (and continue to make) a community. I had only
started at NESLAB in 1985 when Don Phillipe taught me so much about how the
parts procurement system worked. Then as I was writing assembly instructions
for products I went to Fred Dow again and again to figure out exactly how
these things went together. He was never too busy to turn off his torch and
explain things to me. I fondly remember a long-running 'argument' I had with
him, he claimed again and again that he had this large amount of electricity
in his body, and if he touched components, the static would zap them, even
if he used conventional static control procedures. Ah, well. Don and Fred,
you made our lives richer and all NESLABians thank you.

lookin in all the wrong places

You know the SEARCH box on the NESLABians site ... well, don't expect any
privacy on terms you type in ... I see them all on the server log at my
end. What is amazing is the number of users who seem to think this is the
official NESLAB site.

The site CONSTANTLY gets searched for product model names, 12-digit item
part numbers, and serial numbers. So attention NESLAB customers: You are
NOT on the NESLAB service site - it does not exist any more. There is no service
information here. Nobody here but us alumni. But thanks for visiting and feel free
to poke around!

updates

The updates are rolling in fast this week.

New listings on the site include Keith Freischlag (Sales) and Katie Benway
(QA, sister of Mike Benway). Updates include Elaine Anuszkiewicz (now
working for Hampshire Controls, along with NESLABian Dave Laub), Fred
Chisholm (at Thermo, but grandfathered on our site since he registered when
he was a former employee - confused yet?), Emily (Gibserson) Dockham, and
Trish and Mike Goodell who sent a photo way back in January which I
misplaced and just found - sorry for the delay. Fred, Emily, and Katie all
sent along photos so check them out. If your listing is lacking a photo,
please email one along, I can post it on your page for you.

By the way, try putting NESLAB in your favorite search engine and see what
happens. On Yahoo, NESLABians.net has the #1 ranking, higher than the
company itself!

Please check your own listing and update any info needed - we like to be
current! Thanks! -Rick
